News Flash!
Okay, everyone! What we've been waiting for! While waiting at the library yesterday, I came across this book, and HAD to sit down and browse through it. I have mixed feelings: it's good for what it is, but part of me wants to scoff, and much of it I knew already or had decided I didn't give a damn about anyway. As you might expect, it's full of tips about clothes, shoes, makeup, hair, underwear, etc., so you can look Y & H (young and hip, I guess), rather than OL (Old Lady). The author is probably in her mid forties. Being more than a bit past that is why I don't care about some of it, but still... I did go and buy Sally Hansen airbrush for legs, a recommended product.

OK, so I had to just go and buy it from Amazon, used, with my One Click.
I wish they had one for men though...and then another book about how to give it to your husband!
I've used the sally hansen stuff. Am I an OL if I feel naked without stockings in the office?!
I guess I'm getting lazy or perhaps would rather use my time for quilting as opposed to the high maintenance stuff of looking Y&H!
you do realise if your hair was longer you actually look like the pyt on the cover of the book, dont you?
I dont think i'll airbrush my legs - my thighs are so big, i wouldnt be able to reach around the back, and i'd end up with white stripes up the backs of my legs. My legs would look like a landing strip for areoplanes and my bum is big enough to be the hangar for numerous jets. not an image i want to encourage.grin.
Must try the airbrush. My legs are so pasty white and I wear capris a lot in summer. Hey, I looked hot in my mid-40s, ten years later I look sooo old. Went out without makeup today. Scared myself when I looked in the mirror....
the title turns me off...makes growing old sound like the plague...i wanted to be y&h ACTUALLY when i was y&h. now that i'm older and hipper, i want to carry myself well.
I use the Jergens self tanning lotion and it works very well. The only caution is to cover your fingernails or they turn orange. I picked up some of those very thin rubber gloves today to wear when I put it on. The lotion just gives a nice healthy look to my ghastly white legs.
I also just discovered (almost by accident) that if I sit on the ledge under the waterfall in the swimming pool and rub my (always very rough) heels on the swimming pool wall, I get that nasty rough heel pumiced off. I was so excited to learn that trick!
