Routine Stuff and a Prize.
My to-do list has some very basic projects at the moment. Two guild service quilts are finished, and now I'm sewing together the quilt with the French fabric, binding Refraction, and have two display sleeves to sew on. None of these seem anything to blog about until finished. But I did find out at guild last week that the red stars quilt that Deb Geyer quilted for me won the prize (viewers' choice) for large quilts at the guild's library show. I'm so delighted about this! It was a surprise too, because when I was working at the show, my quilt was not one that the visitors commented on. Please forgive me for showing the quilt one more time; I can't resist because it shows up better in this picture than any other. In fact, I actually had never had such a view myself since it's bigger than my design wall. I'm pretty pleased!
So now back to the dull stuff. I need a new recorded book to listen to, I think.

Congratulations on the Viewer's Choice. Have you listened to The Beekeeper's Apprentice by by Laurie R. King? I downloaded it onto my iPod and have been enjoying listening to it whilst sewing.
Congratulations on a well deserved win, Kay! I see Paula's comment above - that entire series is my absolute favorite - Beekeeper's Apprentice is the first in the series!
Cheers!
It's quite a beauty! I can see why it won a prize! Congrats!
Oh Kay, what a delight and what a special quilt. I say that because we, your readers, share memories of this quilt. Like when you started and how you decided to do something more traditional for a change (if I'm not mistaken - I didn't go back and look). But that's my memory, I think this was the time. I recall falling all over about the Stars. I remember pestering about them, too. Upon reflection, I find that so odd. I mean, I don't pester. Huh. hee.
Anyway, what I really mean is a huge Congratulations. And thank you. I have a huge smile in my heart and gratitude for being able to share in this achievement. Sending you my sappy love, *karendianne.
I can look at that quilt over and over! Congratulations. It is well deserved:0
It's my Viewer's Choice too! Congratulations to you and Deb!

Kathie
Congratulations! It's a very striking quilt. Beautiful.
Congratulations! I'm not at all surprised, since this quilt is one of my all-time favorites. The prize is well deserved.
Might I suggest the unabridged version of Diana Gabaldon's book, Outlander to be followed by Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Fiery Cross and Days of Snow and Ashes. Her next book is coming out in September and I'm looking forward to it by listening to these books again myself. I stress the unabridged versions because you miss way too much detail in the short versions out there.
Congratulations on your win! Great photo of the entire quilt - always nice to have a big space to display!
Congratulations Kay! I love this quilt.
Woo Hoo!
This quilt has always been a Total Winner to me. Glad to see it recognized!
Congrats - that red quilt truely is lovely!
