I'm still using my Paddington fabric for charity quilts. This is all of it, the amount of fabric came out perfectly, as though I'd planned it. My guild uses this pattern a lot: six inch squares, all the same or scrappy, and three inch wide sashing and cornerstones. If you have scrappy squares the wide sashing pulls them together, or, as you can see from this example, scrappy wide sashing can create chaos from matching squares. Oh, well. Live and learn.
I think it's kind of cute! May have to "borrow" that pattern to use up some overflow scraps and stash pretty soon...
ReplyDeleteI don't see any problem with it at all!
ReplyDeleteWell, blue and yellow is my favorite and you can't beat Paddington Bear. I think the yellow cornerstones and the Paddington fabric pull it all together:) Very cute.
ReplyDeleteI think this will make its new owner very happy - it certainly does me!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I like scrappy but for some reason I have difficulty doing them. I like your quilt. I try to do a charity quilt every other month and am always looking for a different pattern to try. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThis is very cute!
ReplyDeleteHey, I think it is cute with scrappy sashing.
ReplyDeleteThe more scraps the better--that's my theory! I think this is a wonderful kid quilt. I use that formula a lot too--easy math and readily available scrap sizes.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually quite a big fan of chaos. I like this one a lot.
ReplyDeleteNot too scrappy for me! I absolutely LOVE it!!! And I agree blue and yellow are always wonderful together and who doesn't love Paddington! I love the whole look of this fun quilt :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! And my daughter said, "Nice quilt!"
ReplyDeleteGreat pattern. I might have to borrow it too.
ReplyDeleteLove that pattern; looks good, but simple to sew. Since I like scrappy quilts and blue and yellow quilts, I think this one is great and cheerful for the receiver.
ReplyDeleteI like it! Even though the sashings are different fabrics - by using all the same color it really does tie it altogether. Love the idea for a pattern and I have several baby/toddler quilts to make before Christmas and have been dragging my heels because I don't have enough of any 1 fabric that matches - but this will work. Thanks!
