Yellow nine patches for Debra:
Deb Geyer and I in front of Carolina Baskets at the IHQS:
It was wonderful to meet her and talk, although briefly. We shared some thoughts about the machine quilting on display at this show. When I can get my thoughts straightened out, I will post some, as well as a few more picture.
And--big news: Peppermint Stars, pieced by me and quilted by Deb, was accepted to Paducah. When I marveled at the Paducah show several years ago, I never thought I'd have a quilt there, so this is stunning to me, but after this one was accepted at Road, I decided I had nothing to lose. As Colin Firth said, "I think my career has peaked."

What a lovely photo of the two of you.
Really, you think your career has peaked? Pretty much I think you have a couple more amazing quilts within you. Paducah very well could be seeing you again my friend.
It always makes my heart sing to see some of my quilting blogfriends get together. Congratulations again on Peppermint Stars. You are just getting started, my friend.
You could certainly try entering Carolina Baskets. Your traditional quiltwork is fabulous.
The little 9ers look good too! as do you and Deb!
It's wonderful and I don't think you've peaked at all.
I'm just wondering if you broke into dance like Colin?
I loved his acceptance speech at the Oscars when he said "I'm afraid I have to warn you that I'm experiencing stirrings somewhere in the upper abdominals which are threatening to form themselves into dance moves. Joyous as they may be for me, it would be extremely problematic if they make it to my legs before I get offstage."
Congrats on peppermint stars heading to Paducah! I don't know why you were surprised your quilts are gorgeous and deserve to be there.
The two of you look great! Hope you had a good time.
Congratulations on Paducah also. That is really a quilt that deserves to be in that show.
How good to see the two of you together! Your combined talents produced such a gorgeous quilt!
Congratulations on Paducah!! I hope you get a chance to get to the show. It is truly an incredible experience to be there wearing a "contestant" badge/ribbon, and one you will never forget. You'll know what "walking on air" feels like. I'm so excited for you!!
Congratulations on Paducah. It's nice to think of how many people will see your work there. Great photo of you and Deb.
