Christmas Wishes

I know that everyone wants health and happiness for their friends and family, as well as world peace, but just for the heck of it, let's indulge in some selfish quilty Christmas wishes. I personally would like the Koala QuiltMate II Studio Package available at Nancy's Notions for $2595. Or I would be happy to have a week at The Hudson River Valley Art Workshop. I could take a class from either Carol Taylor or Laura Wasilowski. One week is $1270. I passed these wishes on to my husband, and he gave me the blank look. Darn. Or maybe someone would like a tour to the Tokyo Quilt Festival, or an Alaska Quilting cruise with famous teachers, etc., etc. Anybody?

Hands down, my lust list (I'm way beyond wishing) is topped with a Bernina 630 with stitch regulator and embroidery attachment (with time and lessons to learn to use it). Probably $4000. Not nearly as interesting as your list, but what can I say? I'm a girl of simple tastes (yeah, right). I canNOT see it falling down my chimney, but I can dream anyway, can't I?

  2. I just told Wes tonight not to buy the Janome embroidery machine for my birthday. He was not surprised I had changed my mind but he was a little puzzled now what to get me. Oh well. I just didn't see me using it enough to justify the cost.

A workshop somewhere would be fun! I may be doing that in the spring at Coupeville Art Ctr so I'll have some delayed gratification.

  4. I checked out the Hudson River Valley place, and if I leave now, I can make it to Ruth McDowell tomorrow. A year from now I can go to Laura Cater-Woods.

Seriously, I just want some shelves for my sewing room. And a good night's sleep and some free time.

  5. I'm with Jen Clair! The one at Asilomar has always sounded great to me, too. Funny I never thought about a sewing machine, (too practical?), but I wouldn't mine that Bernina.

  6. Oh Kay-we are great minds thinking alike. I lust after the trip to Tokyo with a side of the Bernina thrown in. The Hudson River Valley is three hours from me and I would like to take Melody Johnson's class(Fibermania)

  7. OOOH, I like your gift ideas. But I'm afraid I'd get that same blank look from my husband if I requested any of them. LOL!

A workshop or retreat with all my quilting pals. All expenses paid for everyone.

    And lots of thread.

  9. I'm with you! (I really hope to get a nice sewing/cutting table with my 25% off coupon & store gift cards.) But now that you mention it the Tokyo trip & Alaska cruise both sound great too!

  10. Any trip sounds good to me :) I have a nice sewing machine, but I think I'd like to try one with a stitch regulator.
I'd love Art Quilt Tahoe, two whole weeks with plenty of money for travel and supplies and no worries about taking the time off work. Hudson River workshops sound pretty nice too. I may actually get to Asilomar one day...Jen

  11. Laura Wasilowski's going to be at Road to California in January. You could visit your quilt and take a class or two.

I'd love a quilting cruise and all the beads I can carry.

  17. Well I'll add my wish list. The Alaska cruise sounds good. Definitely IQF in 2007--my cousin lives in Houston & I haven't visited her in a while! I'd like a serger, too while we're at it.
