Au revoir, a bientot

Tomorrow we're leaving for our four week stay in Paris, so I'll be posting only occasionally since I don't know how to post pictures from an internet cafe, and the place my husband works isn't really conducive to one more person hanging out. I hope to read blogs enough to keep in touch, however. So everyone keep up the interesting work! Give me lot of interesting news and WIP.

I couldn't get an idea of what sort of handwork project to work on while I'm away, so I finally just took two small pieces of hand painted fabric that I THINK have an interesting design, layered them, and plan to hand quilt them heavily, with the hope of enhancing the design. It might even give me a reason to spurge on beautiful thread and beads in the needlework department of the Bon Marche.

I'm not really excited about this trip: partly that's my gloomy disposition, partly unresolved issues here, partly an aching back which makes me worry about the omnipresent stairs in Paris, and partly regret that I didn't work harder on improving my French. But how ungrateful to complain about a trip to Paris, so I'll just post this picture to get everyone in the mood!

You don't have to appologise for your less than enthusiastic mood about the trip... We all go through those cycles (I am in one right now myself) you just have "bad" timing.

I can't wait to see what you do with the fabric. (I have seen something that sounds like what you have in mind & it was AWESOME!)

Have a safe trip!

If you can, just relax and take a deep breath! Paris may be just what you need to take your mind off what is bothering you. Have fun (anyway)!

Definitely you should splurge on some of those gorgeous threads...

Bon voyage. I think as soon as you sit down in your first Parisian cafe in front of a cafe au lait and a croissant you'll feel better. Buy some wonderful table linens.

I hope you relax and have loads of fun in Paris. I can't tell you how exciting it was to see your bird quilt in the fabric at the Denver quilt show. Wow! I actually know the quiltmaker who did that and got chosen as a Hoffman Challenge winner.

A bientot aussi, cherie! You will have a wonderful time. The weather will be perfect. Go sit in one of the lovely chairs at Luxembourg Gardens and just think of me for 10 seconds, okay? I'll feel your vibe, I just know it. Have fun at Bon Marche and pop into Monoprix too. But most of all, go to Le Rouvray and take pictures. Oh, and keep a detailed journal. And do what you can for Franco-American relations too. Is that enough special requests? I don't envy you the plane ride, but soon it will be just a painful memory! ;-) Can't wait to hear your reports.

Wow--lucky you! Oh, to travel. There is a place near us called Sugar Tit. I always say I'd be happy just to go to Sugar Tit.
