Tomorrow, I'm taking a bus trip to the Chicago International Quilt Festival. I always have mixed feelings about this show. The crowd is too large for the venue, or the venue is too small, and the press of people is unpleasant. I also don't like the way the vendors overshadow the quilts, but I guess that's the way it is at all shows. Still, I would hate to miss it, and am looking forward to the beautiful exhibits, and
some of the vendors, and especially to seeing my quilt,
I Dreamed of an Elephant, in the Hoffman Challenge exhibit. If anyone will be there tomorrow and would like to say hi, email me, and we can arrange a quick meeting.
Oh... the Elephant!!! My favorite. Gee wiz. I wish I wish I wish I wish I would have bid on that. Oh lordy what was I thinking. Dear friend, have the best time you can and know that you'll be carrying me along because, well, I can't let go of I Dreamed of an Elephant and you know it, too!
ReplyDeleteHave a good time-I know how those shows are-and take pictures please. I would especially love to see your piece:)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go to a big show, I vascillate between inspired and why do I bother.
Seeing your piece there will be a thrill. Savor it. And take a picture of it hanging there.
