The Blahs

Do I have the blahs! I have a binding to do, a label to sew on, the Australian blocks to sew together, new quilts that I could plan, and no interest in any of them. I painted four pieces of fabric (ugly), made a post card (equally ugly, and stupid too), baked a pie, (good!) so I'm not totally unproductive, just bored. I realized a while ago that this is the first day of school and in the old days I would not be sitting in the yard petting my cat, and I was very happy. Could I be subconsciously wishing to be back in the classroom. Nah-don't think so.

Thank goodness for blogs; although seeing what great stuff others are doing makes me feel even less productive. Still, it's a window on the world, and lighting MAY strike tomorrow and I'll develop some energy.

Kay, what did you teach?

must be something in the air. I could have written the very same blog entry myself. I don't know about you, but what I really need is a good looming deadline.

You just need something that sparks your interest. Or maybe you need a break from quilting for a little while. I know your desire to stitch will come back - it always does, right?

Time for a girl movie on the Barbie TV Network! I live with all guys, so when I pop a video in my little portable TV in my sewing room, I say I am tuning in to Barbie TV which is girls only! That will get you through that binding chore.
Here are some ideas for you:
"Sliding Doors", "Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood", "Anne of A Thousand Days", "Buffalo Girls", "Clueless" (it is based on Jane Austin's "Emma", after all), and here is a relly obscure one, and my all time favorite for cheering myself up: "Joshua Then and Now".
Something in there should speak to you! And you could be really indulgent and watch your movie in the middle of the day!

ah, give yourself grace to be "unproductive"...you're just simmering is all...you'll shake at stick at yourself when you know its time to get busy again. hangeth in :)

Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone! I was basically just whining and didn't really expect response. It's a friendly world out there in blogland, isn't it?

I haven't been sleeping well for days and now I am getting grouchy by the late afternoon. It's not the same as not having any energy but it does affect how I act, which I don't like.

Any news about your Hoffman pieces?
