I've put the inner border on this exchange block quilt, and am auditioning the next two borders. I'm not sure that I now like the multi-print fabric I originally planned to use as a border because the colors don't seem to work. There is a blue in the focus fabric, but it barely shows, and the blue blocks seem to come out of nowhere. The dark green might be better, but I don't have enough of it to make a wider border, and this is intended to be a stash project. Any thoughts, anyone? Maybe I'm thinking too much about something that is just a very basic, finish-the-UFO project.

It's looking very green to me overall even with the other colors. I vote you continue with the large border print.
For so much work invested in this quilt, I think you should allow yourself to buy the exact border you want.

I like that print with those blocks... it works well with the greens, reds & poppies. I also think that the renegade blocks add to the quilt - make you stop & think, "Why are there blue blocks?" Instead of just quickly saying, "nice quilt" and walking by...
I'm with Allie on this one. I think this is not a "pensive" quilt. If you have to analyze the choices, it doesn't quite work. It wouldn't hurt to just SEE if there is a border fabric that makes it all click. Would it?
