I probably win the out-of-left-field prize this month, since as you can see, this looks nothing like the photo. Sometimes you just have to do what feels right to you, especially in art, however you define art. There is more about my thought process on the Interpret This! blog, and you can see the other lovely work by people who were able to stay much closer to the original image. Reveals began yesterday, so be sure and scroll down.

very interesting, Kay! I think you captured the inspiration photo quite well. It's fascinating you watch all you artists at work!
I think your interpretation is inspired. I love it!
Oh my gosh Kay! I've looked at this three times before commenting. This piece is outstanding, distinctive and another one that is truly something ELSE! I LOVE IT. I like looking at it up close and noting all the workmanship and again, I wish I could spend a weekend with you and just hang out and watch!!!
Even before I saw who had done this interpretation I decided it was my favorite! It's gorgeous!
Well, you know I am going to say that a strict interpretation of the photos is not always the way to go:) Great results as always!
I like this, Kay. soft, calming.
you made the right choice going with the oval quilting. it is a lovely piece
I just went over to Interpret This and love your abstracted interpretation of the photo! Your workmanship is beautiful and the overall effect is very serene. Really lovely!!
