I'm home, and hope to stay here awhile. It's hot and muggy, my husband has our deck torn apart, and there are strawberries to be made into jam, but I'm trying to stay calm and upbeat. The basement is the place to be as much as possible!

At guild meeting last night, and one of our members showed her small whole-cloth quilt that won first place for Whole Cloth Traditional at the Machine Quilter's Showcase. It's a beautiful quilt, and quite an honor, as well as a first for our little guild. Congratulations, Denise! The list of winners is something to see.

And from the sublime to the ridiculous--I have finished quilting my Hoffman, and have it pinned down for the first blocking. Binding tomorrow. I hope to have it ready to go by July 1. I'm very ready for some brainless piecing as a change of pace, but I also have to work on ribbons for the guild show. I wonder who might win the machine quilting award...

I missed the previous post and wondered where you had gotten to.

Glad you are home but sorry that it is so hot. I was interested in your mention of E.H. Young in your previous post. I haven't read that author but am interested (as always) in a good read.

I bet you will be glad to get rid of that Hoffman piece. When it is all finished I bet you will do a little dance of joy!

PS-It turned out great:)

Hot and muggy here, too. Gonna' be a long summer!

Thanks for the link to all of these fantastic quilts. I started saying, "This is my favorite" but that kept changing, and I finally gave up!

Those quilts are so far out of my league they make me want to go eat a chocolate candy bar to soothe my lack of talent. Unbelievable!

Kay,

The winner really is amazing. Congratulations to your Guild member Denise. I was blown-away by all the quilts. "Remembering Gloria" and "Madonna" were among two that I related to for personal reasons.

One of the things I love about visiting is the great links you post. Expands my quilty-self!

Ribbons? I wonder what that might be about...

Welcome home and enjoy that jam!
