Scattered Progress

Working in a very random order, I've made a little progress on the pieces I posted last time. There's a brighter version of the butterfly weed as well as the original, and both are quilted, ready for applique. I will only make one, and am trying to decide which one. The brighter one looks much better in the picture, but in reality, I'm not happy with the thread color I had on hand. Then there is a partially bound piece, another ready for binding, and this one ready to finish quilting. It looks better in a close-up. The butterfly does not. How I wish I were better at free motion quilting!

Hmmm, I like them all so I guess I'm not much for contributions this morning.

Progressing in a random order, is still progressing! I like them all, too!

I think they all have something interesting going for them. I do like the lighter sun print if I were forced to choose:):):)

Really interesting. Are they part of a greater plan - or truly random bits? I'm drawn to the center top row piece. A fractured log cabin?

OK, I'm back. I think I see why you like the 'darker' butterfly piece more. The stitching is denser and there is something more . . . pulled together . . . I'm not sure what to call it. Yeah. I'd want to see that one when it's finished.

I like the one that is darker the best for color. Your quilting looks pretty darn good to me.
You're being to hard on yourself. Isn't that the way we all get about these things though?
Hope you have a lovely weekend Kay

If you have a soldering iron you can melt the organza around the butterflies and get a nice clean edge. I have also tried holding it near a flame but that didn't go well!

The butterfly weed fabric and Debra's butterflies...what an inspired and beautiful combination!
