Here's another fun projectfor the Houston Show. Make a whimsical fabric hand for the "Show of Hands" exhibit. Lots of scope for creativity, without the pressure of making something worth $30!

(The blue one looks all tendon-y & the red one looks like it is about to burst with blood spewing everywhere...)
One of our quilt shops had a two day sew in event to make hands. One of the owners made a black velvet one with wire in the fingers. It looked very much like Thing from whatever tv show that was. Munsters? Adams Family? I don't know. I wasn't allowed to watch much tv growing up...
I do like the parrot quilt. It is very cool. I'll bet you could sell that pattern, if that is something you are interested in doing.

I would agree that the examples aren't the best--tendony is a good description. But still...
I love this idea! How about posting it on the Quilt Studio and let's see if we can get a bunch of us to do it?
