Grrr--

I've been planning a lovely October piece: falling leaves, poem, hopefully very lovely. But today I decided to EXPRESS MY MOOD! So I pieced this dark block, and then slashed it in half. Very satisfying. And it was rather stress relieving. But of course, now I don't know what else to do with it. It's actually a neat looking block by itself, but I could either embellish, slash some more, or leave it as it is. Maybe it's served it's purpose.

I get your mood. I think you could leave it is and say it served its purpose, or you could make a sandwich and a mini art quilt out of it with quilting. I think it's sandwich worthy, quilting worthy, and wall-worthy.

lovely composition. I agree, it would look great on a wall.

It can be very relieving doing a piece like that. I always wonder too, what to do with it after it has served its purpose.

Just maybe it's the beginning of a larger piece. I've never before seen this done to a block. I'm intrigued.

My thought was the same as Nellie's...what a great block design and make more of them to add to this piece. maybe mixing it with more cut and uncut blocks just like it.

Not only was it cathartic but it is successful as an art piece. I really like the idea of just finishing like Rian suggested, or, making other similar slashed blocks for a larger piece per Nellie and Karoda. Either way it would be a good design.
